Start with two recorded birth times

Prepare each person's birth date, local clock time and birthplace. The calculator resolves the location and its historical timezone before calculating the two charts. A current timezone offset is not necessarily the offset that applied on the birth date. Check the resolved city and coordinates, especially when several places share the same name.

Enter Person A in the traditional groom role and Person B in the traditional bride role used by the selected tables. These are calculation roles, independent of gender identity. Swapping A and B can change Varna, Vasya and Gana. The form does not request caste information.

What the free comparison actually calculates

The selected basic North Indian profile compares the two sidereal Moon positions through eight Ashtakoota factors, adding their points to a maximum of 36. Each factor is displayed separately with its explanation, so a single total does not hide where points were gained or lost.

Mars-house checks are displayed separately from the 36 points, using the ascendant and Moon as references. The results also provide both birth charts. The calculator does not select a wedding date, apply every regional exception, or decide whether two people should marry.

Why another calculator may disagree

The default is True Chitra, anchored to apparent Spica, with whole-sign houses. Mean Lahiri, equal houses, Sripati and true/mean nodes are selectable alternatives. Keep the same settings on both charts when comparing services; the older lahiri alias in this application means True Chitra rather than standard mean Lahiri.

Free results are available without purchasing a report. Saving is optional; buying a PDF creates a retained private report. A PDF is a reference copy of the calculation. A written human review is a separate optional service when available. Neither option turns a traditional score into a prediction of relationship success.

From birth details to 28.5 points: a complete worked example

This is an actual, non-saved calculation for two fictional people. It contains no customer data and is not a relationship outcome study. Both charts use True Chitra, whole-sign houses and the true node.

From local clock time to Moon position

  1. A: 1 January 1990, 09:30 IST = 04:00 UTC. B: 15 June 1992, 16:45 IST = 11:15 UTC. Asia/Kolkata uses +05:30 on these birth dates.
  2. With the selected sidereal reference, A's Moon is at 305.084911°: Aquarius, Dhanishta pada 4. B's is at 243.903936°: Sagittarius, Mula pada 2. The scoring tables operate on these classifications.
  3. For Tara, the inclusive A-to-B star count is 24: remainder 6 modulo 9, earning 1.5. B-to-A is 5: remainder 5, earning 0. Tara therefore contributes 1.5/3.
  4. Adding the eight factor rows gives 28.5/36. Read Mars checks and selected exceptions separately from that raw total.
